50th Reunion Plans

Our 5oth Reunion is really on the calendar now!  Less than two months out and counting.  It's definitely time to get your group together, to locate that old mate and say "Let's do it!  It's only been 50 years."
We are going to have more than 500 back.  There will be sunshine, music, cheer; three days and three not-to-be-forgotten nights, followed by a languorous farewell brunch before the trunk lids start closing on Sunday.  In the meantime, all of us are invited to renew the bonds at these pre-reunion events:

Reunion Housing
We’re in the new Court Complex, just behind Balch.  Air conditioned singles and doubles with lavatories for men, women and handicapped on each floor plus elevators.  For overflow or by  request, we also have access to newly renovated Town House suites where two doubles share a lavatory. Remember our 45th.   We will attempt to accommodate housing requests.  Preference will be given to Thursday arrivals for a three night stay.  These rooms may be reserved after you have received your registration packet in late March/early April.
Hotel Options
For those who prefer hotel accommodations Cornell and your committee have reserved blocks of rooms.   Please call hotels directly. All prices plus 13%tax.  Blocks have been reserved for June 5,6,7 and a two night stay is necessary.  Cit-off dates  and cancellation policies vary with each hotel.  Please do not wait, many of these rooms are already booked.
The following three hotels are near ‘58 Headquarters: Ramada Inn 607-257-3100 starting at $179.95; Econolodge 607-257-1400 starting at $132; Clarion University Hotel 607-257-2000 starting at $179.95.
Slightly further away are: Holiday Inn Downtown 607-272-1000 starting at $179.99; Meadow Court Inn , further downtown 607-273-3885 $95 - $145; Airport Marriot Courtyard 866-541-3600 starting at $219.00.

Help !!
Your committee needs your help!  Please contact Carol Welch at 914-241-2941 or carolwelch@att.net if you would like to help with finding/calling classmates.  All other volunteers please contact Alan Goldman at 973-509-8356 or alangoldman@comcast.net   There are many opportunities for volunteering both before and during reunion.

Cornell Adult University (CAU) runs a seminar Sunday  through Wednesday before reunion.  This year’s topic is China.  “From Marx to Wal-Mart:  Will the Economic Miracle be Peaceful?”   It is rapidly filling.  Call or visit website before it’s sold-out!   607-255-6260  www.cau.cornell.edu .
